Mendoza beats Hirales for IBF Light Flyweight title

Javier Mendoza defeated Ramon Garcia Hirales in a unanimous decision Saturday to capture the vacant IBF Light Flyweight title. Mendoza (22-2-1, 18KOs) took one card 116-109 and the other two at 115-110 to take down Hirales (20-5-1, 12KOs). Mendoza knocked Garcia down with a body blow in the fifth and again in the 10th. Hirales was penalized a point in the eighth round for a low blow.
